Commendation, Valediction, and Wake Keeping
This day is devoted to solemn reflection, prayer, and the final communal acts of honour across two locations in Ekiti State.
In the late afternoon, we will gather at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church for a Commendation and Valedictory Service, scheduled from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm. This gathering brings together guests from near and far for a moment of shared remembrance, spiritual reflection, and collective farewell.
The day concludes in the evening with Wake Keeping and Lying-in-State at the Oba Rawaa’s Compound, beginning at 7:00 pm. This traditional and intimate gathering provides space for quiet reflection, tributes, and communal support as the family keeps vigil in honour of the departed.
This day stands as a deeply meaningful passage in the valedictory process, uniting faith, tradition, and community in a final expression of respect for a life well lived.
